Fluid Solutions

With more than a half-century of experience supporting high-purity and process control applications, UCT Fluid Solutions' flow control and fluid management solutions address the demanding requirements of a broad number of industries.

Reliable, cost-effective, high-volume manufacturing involving critical gas or liquid inputs requires a robust physical infrastructure. Whether it is the gas delivery system for wafer fabrication equipment or the fluid control systems for oil and gas production applications, valves, fittings and hoses are critical building blocks.

Meeting the stringent requirements of high-performance industries means understanding the capabilities of individual parts and components and ensuring the performance of the entire system. From high-purity, corrosive chemical delivery systems for semiconductor applications to high-pressure, temperature-sensitive solutions for chemical and pharmaceutical processes, we address complex application challenges with our end-to-end development and manufacturing capabilities.

Engineering & Technology Partner

Our tailored engineering solutions solve our customers’ product needs through a collaborative approach resulting in a lower total cost-of-ownership.

We achieve this by integrating industrial internet of things (IIoT) capabilities into our devices, enabling customers to achieve industry 4.0 benefits.

Fluid control valves and fittings

Flow control has always been critical for high semiconductor device yield. New process steps in leading-edge devices create fresh challenges for delivering high-reliability, high-purity fluid flow. Novel chemicals are increasingly being introduced to enable advanced deposition and etch processes, including many liquid and solid precursors. In addition, processes like atomic layer deposition and extreme ultraviolet lithography expand the range of requirements, including fast-gas switching and high-pressure control.

With decades of experience supporting semiconductor production, our extensive Ham-Let product portfolio has expanded and adapted to changes in the industry. We effectively manage condensation across the multiple components that comprise the flow path. In addition, we continue to develop components compatible with the corrosive chemicals used in our industry. Our products meet stringent requirements whether the application needs exceptional flow tuning and calibration, precise volumes of a precursor in each manufacturing cycle or repeatable performance under high-temperature applications.

Power and Energy

As society moves toward carbon neutrality, meeting the world’s energy requirements remains critical. Oil and gas production and distribution will still be required as part of this transition. The oil and gas, liquified natural gas and nuclear industries require strict compliance with regulations across all levels of the supply chain. Instrumentation and control solutions must address the functional requirements of the component and the operational realities of remote monitoring and control.

With a broad portfolio of products, we provide critical valves, instrumentation and control solutions for the energy sector, along with an experienced engineering team available to assist in meeting our customers’ needs.

Hydrogen

As the world embraces sustainable energy solutions, hydrogen is emerging as a promising alternative fuel in the transition toward a greener future.

The UCT Fluid Solutions team possesses  the technical knowledge and resources required to deliver specific solutions for hydrogen applications. From hydrogen storage and transportation to fuel cells and beyond, we are committed to supporting this promising sector.

Process Industries

Process industry success is built on highly reliable, efficient production. Flow monitoring and control components of material distribution systems are critical in minimizing the frequency of scheduled maintenance events and maximizing overall uptime and availability.

Beyond productivity, emissions from industrial activities impact our environment, our communities and are costly to companies that must monitor and demonstrate compliance. Effluent tracking systems focus on point-of-exit monitoring, through treatment facilities and other scrubber activities, and emissions from these sources are known.

However, fugitive emissions (i.e. leaks) of gases and vapors from a production facility requires materials transport and distribution systems be designed with components that minimize the risk of these unplanned and often costly emissions.

Control valves are one of the major sources of fugitive emissions, contributing as much as 60% in our customers' operations. Through a stringent materials selection and manufacturing process, UCT Fluid Solutions Ham-Let valves, connections and hose solutions prevent fugitive emissions.

Industrial process valves are used in instrumentation and process lines for a broad range of applications. Multiple sensors and instruments are required to measure pressure, temperature, flow, humidity and indication of position/state. When integrated into the process line, each of these instruments is a possible leakage source. Additionally, most of these instruments are not aligned with industry 4.0 applications and benefits.

Online monitoring, control and management of various processes can enable immediate response for safety events, facilitate machine learning and enable machinery and manufacturing optimization. The obvious place to implement this level of control is within process valves, a key element in the flow control of the system.

To address this, one of the major areas of innovation we are working on is IIoT valves. Our in-house incubator has already been recognized with multiple awards for the IoTH800 Smart Valve.

Material Certification, Quality & Traceability

To support the stringent traceability requirements of the industries we service worldwide, we maintain an extensive certification program. Our certification listing is available HERE.
