Display Manufacturing Market Needs
Demand driven by larger-sized TVs and new display applications has the display industry facing two major migrations – organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays primarily for mobile devices and Gen 10.5+ production for larger displays. Producing defect-free screens gets increasingly complicated especially as screen size increases. To make thin-film transistor (TFT) arrays used in liquid crystal displays (LCD), panels are processed using steps like those in semiconductor fabrication including deposition, lithography and etch. Throughout the process, defect control and uniformity are critical. Unwanted contaminants such as organics detrimentally impact the performance and decrease of Laser Induced Damage Threshold (LIDT).
Experience in Design, Engineering, Manufacturing & Analytical Testing For the Display Industry
Organic contaminants are found on machined optical components, wires/cables, adhesives, coatings, O-rings, even gloves, wipes and bags used in handling and packaging of cleaned parts. In addition, these contaminants are found in cleanroom environments where assembly activities are taking place and CDA or Compressed Nitrogen may be in use to purge laser cavities.
