Jim Scholhamer , , , Chief Executive Officer

Prior to joining UCT as Chief Executive Officer, Jim Scholhamer was corporate vice president and general manager at Applied Materials, Inc. in the Applied Global Services from 2010 to 2014 and the Display and Glass Products Groups from 2006 to 2010. During his tenure, Mr. Scholhamer played a critical role in improving the company’s execution in the 200mm Semiconductor and Display markets. He headed the display manufacturing and operations in 2008 when the group successfully delivered on $1B revenue, the largest ramp in group’s history. He also led the display group to capitalize on industry trends like OLED and touch screens for tablet, computers, and smart phones.

Prior to Applied Materials, Mr. Scholhamer was Chief Technical Officer and Chief Operational Officer of Applied Films Corporation. He holds a B.S. in engineering from the University of Michigan.

Sheri Savage , , , Chief Financial Officer

Sheri Savage has served as our Chief Financial Officer since July 7, 2016. Ms. Savage joined the Company as the Senior Director of Finance in April 2009. Prior to joining UCT, Ms. Savage served at Credence Systems Corporation as corporate controller and Vice President of Finance and as Director of Internal Audit. Prior to Credence Systems, Ms. Savage held various accounting and finance roles at Protiviti and KLA-Tencor Corporation. Ms. Savage also served as Manager, Business Process Risk Accounting, at Arthur Anderson LLP.

Ms. Savage holds a B.S. in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis.

Mark G. Bingaman , , , Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Management & Machining Operations

Mark G. Bingaman has served as our Senior Vice President for Supply Chain Management and Global Materials since February 2010. Prior to joining UCT, Mr. Bingaman was the Managing Director at Applied Materials Inc. in charge of the Tainan, Taiwan manufacturing site. In addition, Mr. Bingaman held multiple positions at Aeroquip-Vickers and at McDonnell Douglas, including Vice President for global supply chain management and Vice President of operations for the McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Company.

Mr. Bingaman holds a B.S. in accounting from the University of Missouri and a M.S. in management information systems from Southern Illinois University.

Ron D’Ercole , , , Senior Vice President, Quality

Ron D’Ercole has served as Senior Vice President of Global Quality since 2016. Mr. D’Ercole joined UCT in December 2014 as Vice President of Quality. Prior to joining UCT, Mr. D’Ercole had more than 15 years of experience in the semiconductor equipment industry working at Lam Research and Novellus Systems and held director level positions for customer experience, corporate quality & services, and global spares and corporate quality assurance. He also worked at LSA Anodic Technologies where he a founder and chief operations officer.

Mr. D’Ercole holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of California Berkley and a Master in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco.

Deborah Hayward , , , Senior Vice President, Account Management

Deborah Hayward has served as our Senior Vice President of Global Account Management since January 2007 and Vice President of Sales since October 2002. Ms. Hayward joined UCT in 1995 as an Account Manager for new and developing customers. She assumed the position of Sales Director in 1998 and was promoted to Senior Sales Director in January 2001, with responsibility for all sales and account management.

Prior to UCT, she spent 10 years at Brooks Instruments in various customer service management and account management roles. She attended California State University, Hayward where she studied business management.

Michael Henderson , , , Senior Vice President, Engineering

Michael Henderson has more than 25 years of high tech engineering leadership experience with senior roles in R&D, process development, and production management. With tenures at Seagate, Avaya, Modumetal, and Grote Industries, he has had responsibilities worldwide leading aggressive product development and production ramps, manufacturing site transitions and outsource partner management.

Mr. Henderson has a M.S. in Physics from the University of Minnesota.

Lavi Lev , , , President Asia

Lavi Lev has 30 years of Business, R&D and operational management in the microprocessor chip design, electronic design automation software (EDA), test equipment, contract manufacturing, and 3d printing. Some of his achievements include the circuit design of the first Pentium microprocessor (Intel), the design of the first UltraSparc Microprocessor (Sun Microsystems) and the business responsibility for the $1B Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software of Cadence Design Systems. Mr. Lev has extensive Merger and Acquisition experience concluding 20 deals in Asia, Europe and the US totaling over $2B.

Mr. Lev Lavi is currently President of UCT Asia and works in UCT’s Asia headquarters in Singapore. Prior to joining UCT he was President and CEO of Credence Systems.

Mr. Lev graduated from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology and from the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music. He is the author of 15 patents and numerous papers covering semiconductor, internet, EDA software and consumer electronics technologies.

David Speirs , , , Senior Vice President, North America Operations

David Speirs has served as Senior Vice President of North America Operations since 2010. Working in the Semiconductor Capital Equipment industry for more than 20 years, Mr. Speirs has management experience in Manufacturing, Quality and Operations. Mr. Speirs joined UCT in 2006 to manage the Manufacturing Operations of UCT’s Seiger Engineering acquisition. He was instrumental in expanding the new product introduction group for UCT into a global organization. Prior to joining UCT, he was the Vice President of Operations for Metara Inc. a start-up venture manufacturing chemical metrology equipment for the semiconductor industry. He has held several Director level management positions during his 10 years at Novellus Systems including Manufacturing, Operations Quality and CVD/PVD Operations.

Mr. Speirs holds a SCOTEC degree in Electrical Engineering from Stow College of Engineering.

Joan Sterling , , , Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Joan Sterling has served as our Senior Vice President of Global Human Resource since 2016. Ms. Sterling joined UCT in March 2013 as Director of Global Human Resources bringing 20 years of human resources leadership experience in media entertainment, high tech and banking. Prior to joining UCT, Ms. Sterling was the Human Resource Director for Engineering and Broadcast Operations at SiriusXM Satellite Radio. She worked at Hitachi Data Systems as an executive change management consultant for a global IT redesign. Ms. Sterling served as human resource senior vice president for the consumer credit group at Wells Fargo. Ms. Sterling served in several senior director roles at Hewlett Packard managing human resources sites and functions of staffing, compensation, benefits, training and development. She was the corporate director of human resource strategic planning for First Energy Corporation. She worked at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as the Midwest Region Headquarters Human Resource Manager.

Ms. Sterling holds a Bachelor of Science in business from DePaul University and a Master of Arts in organizational development from Loyola University.

Joe Williams , , , Senior Vice President, Customer Business Management

Joe Williams joined UCT in February 2015 with the acquisition of Marchi Systems. He continues to manage Marchi and has served as Senior Vice President of Customer Business Management since October 2016. Mr. Williams was president of Marchi Systems at the time of acquisition and he worked previously at UCT as vice president of new business development. Mr. Williams semiconductor equipment industry experience also includes senior vice president of business development & engineering at AIT Corporation (also acquired by UCT), vice president of engineering and director of engineering & operations at Integrated Flow Systems and mechanical design engineer at Watkins-Johnson.

Mr. Williams hold a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University.

Clarence L. Granger , ,

Clarence L. Granger has served as a member of our Board of Directors since May 2002 and as our Chairman since October 2006. Beginning in 1996, Mr. Granger had served multiple roles within the company, including Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President of Operations and culminating with twelve years as UCT’s Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining UCT, Mr. Granger held executive management roles at Seagate Technology, HMT Technology, and Xidex, including holding the position of chief executive officer for HMT Technology from 1993 to 1994. Mr. Granger has a B.S. in industrial engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a M.S. in industrial engineering from Stanford University.

Mr. Granger brings to the Board of Directors his thorough knowledge of UCT’s business, strategy, people, operations, competition and financial position. Mr. Granger provides recognized executive leadership and vision in addition to a global network of customer, industry and government relationships.

David T. Ibnale , ,

David Ibnale has served as a director of UCT since November 2002. Mr. ibnAle is a Managing Partner of Augusta Columbia Capital Group. Prior to joining Augusta Columbia, Mr. ibnAle was a Managing Director of TPG Growth from 2008 to 2011 and an investment professional and Partner at Francisco Partners from 1999 to 2008. Prior to joining Francisco Partners, Mr. ibnAle was with Summit Partners and Morgan Stanley. Mr. ibnAle has served on the boards of directors of a number of technology companies, including Artel, PowerPlan Consultants, Metrologic Instruments, Vitronics-Soltec and Mitel Communications. Mr. ibnAle is also a Trustee of the American Conservatory Theater. Mr. ibnAle holds a B.A. in Public Policy and a M.A. in International Development Policy from Stanford University, and a M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Mr. Ibnale provides to the Board of Directors expertise in corporate finance, accounting and strategy. Through his experience, Mr. Ibnale brings a thorough understanding of business management including investment and strategy ideas to meet UCT’s growth initiatives.

Leonid Mezhvinsky , ,

Leonid Mezhvinsky has served as a director of UCT since February 2007. Mr. Mezhvinsky served as our President (2006-2007), following our acquisition of Sieger Engineering, Inc. He has more than two decades of management experience and in-depth knowledge of machine shop, electro mechanical assemblies and system integration utilized in semiconductor, medical, and biotech OEM products. Prior to joining UCT, Mr. Mezhvinsky was President and Chief Executive Officer of Sieger Engineering, Inc., which he joined in 1982. Mr. Mezhvinsky holds the equivalent of a B.S. in Industrial Automation from College of Industrial Automation, Odessa, Ukraine.

Mr. Mezhvinsky brings management and operational expertise to the Board along with a semiconductor industry background and technology acumen in addition to expertise in operational and global management.

Emily Liggett , ,

Emily Liggett has served as director of UCT since May 2014. She is currently Chief Executive Officer of NovaTorque, a company she joined in March 2009 and has thirty years of experience as engineer, technology entrepreneur and corporate executive. Previously, Ms. Leggett was CEO of Apexon, CEO of Capstone Turbine and CEO of Elo TouchSystems. Prior to these roles she held assignments in sales, marketing, operations and general management at Raychem Corporation, including GM of the Raychem Telecommunications Division. She has had several international experiences; working in Switzerland with EPFL, Australia with McKinsey, Japan with TouchPanel Systems and Belgium with the European Community Task Force for Industrial Innovation. Ms. Leggett has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University, a M.S. degree in Manufacturing Systems and a M.B.A. from Stanford University.

Ms. Liggett provides the board with the perspective on what is required to commercialize new technology-based products, which she has successfully done many times in her career. Additionally, Ms. Liggett provides an international perspective as well as expertise in general management, sales and marketing and operations.

Thomas T. Edman , ,

Thomas T. Edman joined the UCT board in June 2015. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of TTM Technologies, Inc. and has been a member of its board of directors since 2004. Mr. Edman previously served as Chairman and as a board of director’s member of FlexTech and the American Electronics Association (AeA). Mr. Edman held multiple management roles at Applied Materials Inc. including Group Vice President and General Manager of the AKT Display Business Group and Corporate Vice President of Corporate Business Development. Prior to that, he served as President and CEO of Applied Films Corporation from 1998 until Applied Materials’ acquisition in 2006. Mr. Edman has also served as General Manager of the High Performance Materials Division of Marubeni Specialty Chemicals, Inc. Mr. Edman holds a B.A. in East Asian studies (Japan) from Yale University and a M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Edman brings to the board of directors his business acumen and experience in the technology industry, having served in numerous senior executive roles with sizeable technology companies, including as CEO of a public company. Mr. Edman also has extensive experience in Asia and with compensation-related matters.

Barbara V. Scherer , ,

Barbara V. Scherer joined the UCT board in June 2015. She is also a member of the board of directors of NETGEAR, Inc. and ANSYS, Inc. She also served as a director of Keithley Instruments, Inc. from 2004 until its acquisition in 2010. She has experience serving on the boards of non-profit organizations. Ms. Scherer currently is a private investor. Ms. Scherer was Senior Vice President, finance and administration and chief financial officer of Plantronics, Inc., from 1998 to 2012. She was responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial management, as well as information technology, legal and investor relations. Prior to Plantronics, Ms. Scherer held executive management positions spanning eleven years in the disk drive industry, was an associate with The Boston Consulting Group, and was a member of the corporate finance team at ARCO. Ms. Scherer received a B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara and her M.B.A. from the School of Management at Yale University.

With a career spanning more than 30 years including 25 in senior financial leadership roles in the technology industry, Ms. Scherer provides the Company with practical and strategic insight into complex financial reporting and management issues as well as significant operational expertise.

Jeffrey Andreson , ,

Jeffrey Andreson has served as a director of UCT since May 2017. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Nanometrics, a position he has held since September 2014. From 2007 to 2014 Mr. Andreson served multiple finance roles at Intevac, Inc. including Executive Vice President, Finance and Administration, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary and Executive Vice President, Finance. Prior to joining Intevac, Mr. Andreson spent 12 years with Applied Materials in various controllership positions within the company, most recently as Managing Director, Controller of the Applied Global Services product group. Mr. Andreson holds a B.S. in Finance from San Jose State University and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.
