UCT is looking for an experienced Manager SAP ABAP to join our team in Hayward, CA! The person in this role provides technical leadership and administration of SAP products including ABAP, SAP BI, SAP BI/BW, Solution Manager and PI on SAP’s S4 platform. They will also track the SAP Development project and report the status to internal and external teams.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work with and lead cross functional teams as required consisting of project management, business analysts, insourced and outsourced technical resources, business process leads and system users globally to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of system updates and business process enhancements.
  • SAP Basis expertise with PI administration, design specifications, documentation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Complete understanding of B2B as well as A2A exchanges (Synchronous and asynchronous)
  • Manage, administer and support SAP systems mentioned above, inclusive of the data dictionary, reference models, ABAP/4 Development Workbench and customizing components.
  • SAP NetWeaver platform functionality for integrating business processes across various systems, databases and sources
  • Evaluates and manages software including upgrades, database administration, OSS Notes and Support Packages.
  • Responsible for system troubleshooting, problem solving, application capacity planning, tuning, and application server load balancing.
  • Works closely with SAP technical team to ensure complete and coordinated enhancements to enterprise-wide SAP S4 implementation.
  • Manages incoming requests from functional teams and support desk.
  • Participates within the UCT’s Information Technology organization to establish standards for SAP infrastructure, operating system, data base administration, and Basis practices.
  • Develop implementation planning and ROI cost analysis as it relates to deployment of SAP Basis projects and integration to product line SAP Basis integrated projects.
  • Fulfill departmental requirements for reporting, personal development and information security.
  • Provide administration with regards to Sarbanes Oxley Security and Operational compliance requirements and perform technical reviews for the SAP landscape.

  • Extensive experience developing SAP global design templates and strategic ERP roadmaps with business alignment
  • Excellent knowledge of Database architecture including but not limited to MaxDB/SQL Server/HANA
  • Excellent understanding of infrastructure components of a SAP Architecture and experience with Architecture Management.
  • Ability to lead and engage teams and partners with excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proactive, self-starter with ability to find solution to complex technical problems and roll up the sleeves to get work done

Educational/Certification Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science or related field


Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

  • 10+ Years of experience in SAP/ERP with 5+years in development on ABAP
  • 7-10 years of experience in multiple IT areas with 2-4 years of relevant domain experience.
  • Multiple years’ experience with Core SAP components like SAP Netweaver ABAP, SAP Netweaver PI, Solution Manager and SAP Netweaver BW
  • Experience in SAP S/4 HANA preferred
  • Advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application design, system engineering and integration

Management Experience:

  • 5+ years of proven strong team building and employee development experience
