Technology (Ultra Clean Holdings, Inc. - (Nasdaq: UCTT)), a leading developer
and supplier of critical subsystems for the semiconductor capital equipment,
flat panel, solar and medical device industries, announced today it has entered
into a partnership agreement with Cascade Microtech, Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCD) to manufacture
Cascade Microtech's M150 probe station products. In addition to the 150mm stations,
the agreement allows for future manufacturing of 200mm probe stations. Production
of the M150 is expected to begin in one of Ultra Clean's U.S. based facilities
in the fourth quarter of 2008 with volume production planned for the first quarter
of 2009.
"Our M150 product line provides a cost-effective probing platform
for engineers with a wide variety of devices (ICs, bioMEMs, PCBs), and
a limited amount of funding. Partnering with Ultra Clean enables Cascade
Microtech to offer superior quality at a price that meets our customer's
budget," said Geoff Wild, Cascade Microtech's President and CEO. "In
addition, securing a world-class outsource partner enables us to focus
on technology development for next generation products and the introduction
of our new high performance products, such as the Elite 300 probe station,
and Edge Integrated Measurement System."
Ultra Clean will provide turnkey manufacturing for Cascade Microtech's
150mm Probe stations. This includes mechanical and electrical test of
over 30 different modules and final integration; ensuring high quality
standards for the end customer.
"We are very excited to be working with Cascade Microtech as their
new outsourcing partner," said Clarence Granger, Ultra Clean's Chairman
and CEO. "At Ultra Clean, we provide high quality electromechanical
manufacturing capabilities at costs that rival those of offshore manufacturers.
Cascade Microtech highly values finding a domestic outsource partner
that could meet their cost target and provide closer coordination and
business efficiencies."
