MENLO PARK, CA, January 21, 2002 — Ultra Clean Technology, a leading supplier of gas and liquid delivery solutions for the semiconductor process equipment industry, announced the registration of its Austin manufacturing facility to ISO 9001-1994.

UCT established the Austin facility in October 2000 to support its expanding customer base. The Austin facility is just over 11,000 square feet in total size and is fully equipped to handle both volume manufacturing and new product introductions.

ISO certification was achieved through cross-functional collaboration, as corporate quality specialists and Austin operations staff worked diligently to prepare the new facility for a rigorous multi-day audit. "The level of preparation and the results achieved exceeded my expectations," said Clarence Granger, President and Chief Operating Officer.

"The registration of the Austin facility is vital to our approach of standardizing operations throughout all facilities" said Kevin Yee, Director of Quality Assurance. "We were able to leverage our extensive network-based quality Assurance infrastructure to bring the new manufacturing facility up in record time while establishing a model for expanding our maturing Quality System." Mike Anderson, Austin’s Site Director, added: "From the very beginning, continuous improvement has been part of the culture here in Austin. ISO certification is the natural extension of this effort."
